One time when i was a kid I took some sort of class here and we waded out into this pond and pulled up cups of murky water. when I looked closely there were tons of bugs swimming around, dragonfly larvae and all sorts wild creatures. It was great but I couldn't drink opaque liquids for a while afterward. I still like to imagine dragon fly larvae swimming just below the surface of my cereal or soup.

This place was great. It has a few easy trails (around half a mile loops) but they connect to several more including a bike path. It's really beautiful and includes a nice visitors center, a garden with native plants, and an education center. Dog friendly but costs $3 to enter.

Lovely place with a caring staff. No dogs allowed in the nature center, but they are allowed on the trails just around the corner. I've only seen it during the winter, but even in death, it's breathtaking.
