The MaST Center fosters a culture of marine stewardship by engaging our community through interactive learning, personal relations and exploration.
Historical Overview:
1960s - 1990s : Highline Community College developed an Undersea Diving Program which taught students to be commercial divers. Graduates of the program traveled the world and have worked in many locales. The program was phased out in the early 1990s.
1990s - 2003 : The facility was used to support Puget Sound water quality research, and as a biology lab for Highline Community College.
2003 : The MaST Center was officially opened as a teaching center for Highline. Plans to renovate for a new facility began.
2006: The MaST Center was closed for construction.
June 16, 2008 : The MaST Center official re-opened its brand new facility.
