I think this is a real hidden treasure in Johnson County. If you're looking for a way to spend a couple of hours in nature, it's perfect. Great exhibits inside take about 20 minutes to go through. Helpful and polite staff.

Walked two hiking trail loops, each about 1-1/2 mi long. Did some geocaching, and enjoyed being out. I was there 3/9&10, it was clear and dry. On way back to car, stopped at Visitor Center and saw 3 owls and a hawk.

I take the kids here to have some outdoor fun! We take the trails into the woods and we never walk out clean - the kids have the best time! They have a great indoor facility, as well, where you can view native wildlife and there's a small area to explore.

Loved visiting inside and exploring outside with my children! Can't wait to get involved in the various activities throughout the year.

Absolutely wonderful place! They have a long, rather steep walk from the parking lot to the center. CALL IN ADVANCE FOR ASSISTANCE. They provide disabled accessibility by driving you down and back up. *advanced notice necessary for staff availability * Nice little gift shop features a variety of specialized books and children's books. Meeting rooms. Indoor exhibits with live native animals. Indoor bird watching room! I encourage you to bring an item for donation. See their website for needs. Everything from bleach to birdseed to pumpkin and fruits is needed!
